Full Time: Liverpool 4 -2 Newcastle

What more would you expect when those Anfield lights come on and Newcastle come to town. An absolute classic of a match. Goals from Salah (2), Curtis Jones & Gakpo were enough to cancel out Newcastle's two.

In the pre match preview we talked about how this Liverpool team is now a possession based juggernaut. They absolutely flew out the traps and dominated absolutely everything. In what was a performance reminiscent of days gone by.

Diaz and Nunez were unplayable at times before both were subbed for even more class in the form of Gakpo & Jota. The midfield were snapping into tackles. Endo covering so much ground. As was Szoboszlai. Curtis too was the leader of the press and composed when on the ball.

Backed up by Virg and the boys at the back. This was one complete team performance and Newcastle who had their chances too will be glad it's over. Hopefully they are so annoyed they beat City in their next Prem game.

So.. Mo missed a penalty after Diaz had one ruled out for offside.. Surprisingly it was 0-0 at half time. In the second it was lift off.. Mo tapping home from close range after being t'd up by Nunez.

They equalised and we hit back pretty quick. After a quick break and a slick pass from Jota. Curtis once again had a tap in. Then Mo who put on a show after the pen miss whipped a ball in to Gakpo who scuffed a shot into the corner. 3-1..

Newcastle pulled another back from a corner to make things interesting. When they countered down our right Trent won the ball back and slid a pass to A Mac who played an excellent through ball to Jota. He rounded the keeper and was brought down.

The ref pointed to the spot again and Mo stepped up once more. This time a little more composed and slotted it into the far left corner. Game over..

Once again what a game.. All round. The Newcastle keeper was in spectacular form. Ask Nunez.. We are clicking at the right time. We are top of the league and on this showing. . Rightly so.. Well played boys..
