Liverpool turned up tonight on a cold and frosty European night under the lights. The tempo which was been slow of late was much quicker and set the tone for this win. We flew out of the traps.

Quick one touch football opening up the pitch for lightening fast attacks. As the wingers Mo & Diaz pushed, probed and sped past their markers with ease. Two quick goals from Diaz & Gakpo made the night much easier for The Reds.

Diaz with an excellent header which left the keeper static on his line as the ball flew into the net from a Joe Gomez cross. Joe was on fire in this one..

Then Cody Gakpo got on the end of one of those quick attacks. Mo finding himself free and sliding a ball to the Dutch striker to tap in his first of the night. It could have been much more before the ref blew his whistle for half time.

The second half sort of slowed down a bit in terms of pace but it was still very action packed. Let's give a bit of credit here to LASK and their amazing supporters who never stopped singing. They came and played some good football. They could have scored.. Possibly.. Yet we defended very well.

The third came when Gakpo was brought down after a one two with himself. The keeper rushing out and bringing him down. the ref had no choice but to point to the spot. Mo stepped up and smashed the ball hard and low to the keepers left.

At 3-0 the game was won and the subs came on. Not the kids mind you. Trent, Nunez & Curtis entered the pitch and the tempo was restored. Some nice one touch passes around the box opened the visitors up time and again.. Nunez had a chance well saved as did Harvey..

Two Academy lads got their chance with 10 minutes to go as young left and right backs Bradley & Chambers came on. With Bradley taking his right back role Trent moved into midfield and the fourth came soon after.

Trent broke free and ran easily through the middle of the park before slipping an inch perfect pass to Cody Gakpo who was free on the left hand side of the box. He cut inside and hit a rocket into the top right hand corner. It was some finish from the Duch International..

With Union SG & Toulouse drawing 0-0 Liverpool have finished top of the group with a game to spare. Which means we can play a weaker team in the last game so to speak. Some of the Academy grads will get some valuable minutes which we will all look forward to..

All in all a great performance. Let's take this tempo into the next game on Sunday against Fulham.
