Liverpool 3-0 Aston Villa

The Reds were in dominant form today racing into a quick lead through Dominik Szoboszlai who latched onto a Trent corner that bounced into his stride. He unleashed a left foot thunderbolt into the far right corner. Leaving the keeper no chance.

Villa came with a gameplay to sit in and counter. In doing so they did not get going. They sat in and forgot to counter. Liverpool were patient and probing in their build up play and we opened them up pretty much at will..

Mac Allister & Trent were in inspired form and very quick into the tackle. Which led to Liverpools second.. After a quick interception from Trent he fired a ball to Mo down the right wing.

He cut in and laid a nice pass to Nunez whose shot hit the post and deflected in off Matty Cash. We were cruising and moments later Nunez hit the cross bar with a cool little chipped finish. 2-0 at half time flattered the visitors.

The second half you felt the game was won and it was sealed after Nunez flicked on a corner to the far post for Mo to tap in from close range.. At 3-0 the game sort of drifted to the finish.

Subs came on and Villa had a few chances near the end. Nothing clear cut and at the final whistle The Reds claimed their first clean sheet of the season and do indeed go into the international break unbeaten.

Trent limped off late on but judging by the chat he was having with the gaffer at the end it didn't look too serious. So we are back in a couple of weeks with a tricky away game at Wolves with the future looking very bright..
