Wolverhampton Wanderers v Liverpool.. Saturday 16 September.. 12:30 BST

Early kick off after the international break..

The Reds were in fine form going into the international break. The transfer window is shut and Mo stayed. The midfield has undergone a major overhaul. With the late addition of Ryan Gravenberch added to the multitude of other signings and options the midfield looks a lot younger, fitter and stronger..

In summary the win against Bournemouth you'd have expected. Newcastle was just an excellent result. The Chelsea game was probably a game too soon and more beneficial to them than us because if we were playing them now you'd expect us to get the points.

Yet the Aston Villa result was by far the best example of where we are at.. It was real dominance.. Not as we'd expect from a Jurgen Klopp Liverpool side. More controlled in a lot of ways so to speak. We out-footballed them.. A really well rounded win and the foundation for everything else to come.

So an early kick off in the midlands is where we start. The team selection is a little questionable as players arrive back from their travels. Not too many injuries or niggles. More time related due to their respective games finishing and distance to get back. Had this been a Sunday afternoon you'd think it would look a lot different. Anyway lets get into it..

Quick Stat Check.. As discussed Liverpool have won 3 & Drawn 1 of their opening games.. Wolves have Lost 3 & Won 1 of theirs. 1-0 against Everton take from that what you will.. Wolves smashed us 3-0 at Molineux last season but hadn't beaten us in the league there since 1981. A game I was at and believe it was Bruce Grobbelaar's first game for the club. Feel free to correct me.. We lost 1-0..

Liverpool Team News

Out for this game are Virg for his extended ban for that red card at Newcastle. Thiago & Trent who hasn't quite recovered from that niggle against Villa. Nunez & Ibou face late fitness test but should be cool to play or start on the bench..

Liverpool Line Up

Ali, Joe, Matip, Ibou, Robbo, AMac, Szoboszlai, Jones, Jota, Gakpo, Mo

Wolves Team News

Wolves are at full strength apart from Joseph Hodge who is ruled out with a thigh injury..

Dangerman..Jean-Ricner Bellegarde..

The Wolves side that beat us last season has been severely weakened over the summer with the loss of Neves and Nunes yet they made a bit of an under the radar signing of Bellegarde from Strasbourg. I mean he has to test himself at what we consider the top level but he started the season really well in France. Cunha can be a handful and Ait-Nouri also causes problems from left back..

The Game

You would expect more of the same from Liverpool. A more controlled approach to the match. Obviously well on the front foot but a more possession based rip em apart with quality passing until the game gets stretched where we could hit them on quick counters..

Wolves will be trying to sit in and attack in numbers. Although they have lost a few already they did look really impressive against United at Old Trafford and should have won easily.. Which is some statement.

They were very quick and skilful in attack but not so clinical with their finishes.. Unfortunately for Wolves this time out Joe Gomez is at right back so our back 4 looks solid and equally as quick if Ibou gets the nod..

The midfield battle odds sway massively in our favour which as well as protecting the back four also packs an attacking punch. Their forwards can score given a sniff but you should at this level. Will they get that sniff..? You'd think it would be tough..

Where our forwards score for fun. Sadly Nunez & Diaz maybe on the bench yet Jota will like facing his old club and Gakpo played well in the internationals.. As we said the line up may well be questionable up until kick off..

Prediction.. 4-0 To Them Mighty Reds..

Liverpool will set up strong to prevent a repeat of last season and quickly settle into the match. Early kick offs are normally a game of two halves or killed off by half time and the home team is normally slower out the blocks..

The Reds should soak any Wolves attacks up and start to dominate the ball in midfield creating plenty of chances from skilfull breaks into the box, long range efforts and set pieces.. Mo has struggled here but again you could see him scoring.

Szoboszlai is tearing it up and will fancy his chances from distance and Matip & Ibou should cause havoc from set pieces. I mean the goals could come from literally anywhere and you could see us racing into a lead and be out of sight by half time.

OurLFC Dangerman..Andy Robbo..

Not one you'd usually go for hey.. Well with Trent out Robbo should captain the side which will fire up a normally fired up guy that little bit more.. With Joe coming in that should give Robbo a bit more room to to attack where he has had to let that side of his game go lately.

Plus he is on set pieces and he'll be raining in crosses all morning long from them and his rampaging runs.. He should get some chances too from open play. So fingers crossed he keeps them shots hard and low. Our attacking assist king should be on fire in this one..
