We went into this game needing to be tight in the first 20 which we were.. In fact we were absolutely class.. Solid.. Winning tackles and second balls.. The midfield was the same as against Everton and they dominated..

Protecting the back 4 and driving the team forward when needed.. By the 25 minute or so the game was over.. Quick fire goals from Darwin Nunez & Cody Gakpo put us well in the advantage.. 

When Mo was released by an Alisson clearance.. Pope raced out.. Mis-timed his clearance.. Handled the ball and was swiftly sent off.. Harshly he will now miss the League Cup Final.. Which will leave a bitter taste in their mouths..

Darwins goal came after a great through ball from Trent. He chested the ball down and smashed the ball low into the left corner. Leaving the keeper with no chance..

Gakpo finished from close range after great play from himself. He slept a ball into Fabs who found Mo with a slide pass.. Gakpo carried on his run and was found by a nice Mo chip pass. The dutch striker did the rest..

With Newcastle going down to ten men the game was over.. So the rest of the match kind of dwindled out.. There were chances for both. Jota  had a great chance late on but put his header wide.. All in all a much needed 3 points and a valuable away win.. Real Madrid up next in what could end up being a great week for them mighty reds..
