FULL TIME: Liverpool 4-0 Leicester City
FULL TIME: Liverpool 4-0 Leicester City
After a slow start to the game where Leicester stretched us a few times on the counter the reds gathered their composure and took total control of things..
With Curtis Jones starting in holding midfield he started to pull the strings and it wasn't long til the first goal came after a quick break Jota unleashed a low drive the keeper saved only for Nunez to finish from close range..
The second was another nice attack. Mo finding himself free out wide who slipped a nice pass to young Bobby Clark. Who drove a low shot to the keepers left where it nestled in the corner.
Mo the assist king once again found himself open on the right as Leicester started to fade. He crossed a nice little floated ball on to Jota's head who showed us once again just how good he is in the air. As he scored with ease nodding one down into that bottom left hand corner..
The second half started with a completely changed team barring the keeper and Leicester were once again on the back foot.. Harvey blasting one over from close range..
Liverpool were dominant throughout the second period with Ben Doak finishing with a close range header. After a Matip flick on from a Szoboszlai corner.
The rest of the game played out quite chilled from our perspective as the usual substitutions broke up the flow of the game. There were some impressive performances from everyone in the match but a special shout out has to go to the academy graduates who look as well integrated as the more established players..
A tougher test will come next time out against Bayern.. Which will show you how far we have come this pre season.. Hopefully there will be new signings to welcome in before that match too..
