Full Time: Arsenal 0 - 2 Liverpool

Liverpool put in an excellent performance to hang in there in the first half and get a real grip of the game in the second half to run out winners and qualify for the next round of the FA Cup.

First Half

You know what you're gonna face when you take on Arsenal at their place. A very fast start. Pressing all the time. Then quick slick passes to open up the defence. Which is exactly what happened. As much as strikers earn their cash scoring goals. Defenders earn theirs stopping them..

Konate made an excellent last man tackle to name one.. Ali was pulling off save after save. While others threw their bodies in the way of a pretty explosive start from the home side. They had plenty of chances before Trent smashed a rocket against their crossbar just before the break.

Liverpool were looking to carry on with their possession based footballing approach. But against this quality of side it has to be much much quicker. It was far too sluggish with no movement. So to get in 0-0 at half time was a stroke of luck and Klopp had to ring the changes and shake them up a bit..

Second Half

Klopp did ring the changes. Not subs but he put Nunez out on the left with Diaz on the right and the balance was so much better. The chances soon followed with Nunez grazing a shot just wide of the upright. Trent was dominating midfield and Konate was just amazing. Winning everything in defence.

Quansah was coolness personified and was snapping into tackles and Arsenal were showing clear signs that we were dominating the game. The diving started and the fouls were creeping in against us. When Gravenberch was fouled near the corner flag Trent whipped in a free kick that was diverted in to their own net by their own player. 1-0..

You just felt we would counter as Arsenal pressed in search of the equaliser.. Which we did a few times but when Jota (who was class when he came on as sub) broke free he laid in a lovely pass to Diaz who rifled a shot high into the top right hand corner. 2-0 Game Over..

Summary

This was a proper away performance at a very hard place to play. The togetherness in the squad right now is unbelievable.. It gets you through tough games and certainly got us through this one. The quality of the squad too is immense. What Arsenal lack if we are being honest.

They are a very good side. A very good side. But that world class talent we possess is there for all to see. With Mo away it will give the others a chance to step up and they have done that today and will continue to do that. This is one top top quality Liverpool side and that was one top top result. From the players and the manger.
