Stefan Bajcetic v Wolves

After the disappointment of recent results and the capitulation against Brighton last time out most teams would revert to basics.. Seasoned pro's filling every position in the hope to stem the flow..

Yet we don't do things the conventional way.. Bring in young lads who's hearts bleed the red of the club mixed with some outstanding abilities and potential to become future stars..and James Milner of course..

In goal Kelleher has been with the club years.. Carvalho who joined from Fulham has red allegiance.. and the two who came very close in the vote put to our Facebook Group Harvey Elliott and Stefan Bajcetic both came through similar channels.. 

Harvey via Fulham too & Bajcetic via Celta Vigo signed as exciting prospects.. Spent time at the academy and broke into the first team quickly.. Harvey had a year out on loan but you get the feeling this won't be necessary for Bajcetic..

We've had a good string of young midfielders coming through.. Leighton Clarkson & Tyler Morton to name a few who have been out on loan themselves. Yet Bajcetic seems to be a cut above and enjoyed himself thoroughly playing alongside his Spanish counterpart Thiago..

EXCEPTIONAL PERFORMANCE

Bajcetic showed us signs of his talent in pre-season where he dominated and had calls from many to start the season in midfield.. He's now played a couple more friendlies. A few cup games and played some Premier League minutes too.. Add to that a game securing first goal for the club against Villa the other week and you can see where the excitement comes from..

Last night at Wolves up against Neves, Moutinho & Matheus Nunes for part of the second half amongst others he once again stood out.. He is so quick to spot danger and snuff it out. Snapping into tackles before opponents get a chance to think.. 

He shows composure on the ball well above his years and can ping a ball around the park too.. Obviously there are things still to work on but he can really thrive with the players around him every day..

OurHARVEY

Harvey came second in the vote and again rightly so.. Like Bajcetic he is a leader he took the fight to Wolves from the off and this lad really is beyond his years.. Not that we arent aware of this of course.. His potential is really bearing fruit right now.

The ball always sticks with Harvey.. He rarely plays the wrong pass and give him a chance and that ball is in the back of the net.. As he ran through last night you genuinely expected something to happen. When he saw the keeper off his line.. Boom.. The rest is history..

Harvey is us.. He's a fan.. Through and through.. In the last minutes he crunched into a tackle and flew over to the fans and celebrated like we'd won the cup let alone the match.. and that is why this game was won and the future of the club is in a great place..
