Young Stefan Bajcetic just goes from strength to strength and nothing seems to faze him in the slightest.. That probably comes with territory of being only 18 years of age..

He's looked sharp in every game he's played.. Yet a tough Merseyside Derby was calling.. Our form wasn't the best and a win was vital to kickstart our season.. The team was packed out with leaders once more. None more so than in the midfield..

Fabinho lined up holding. Just in front of the back 4 and was back to his best.. Hendo (Our Captain) returned to the side after featuring from the bench for whatever reason of late lined up to the right.. And Bajcetic our little superstar took position to the left..

Once again we have talked about the importance of training day in day out with our first team players for these youngsters and it was clear to see last night how this aids their progression.. Bajcetic was everywhere..

In his previous games he's been a little reckless with tackles and has won me a few quid on the player to be booked bets.. Yet he has matured quickly and his positioning & timing last night was impeccable..

He is very comfortable on the ball with a great short game and an excellent long range of passes too in his locker.. He also has great strength.. Holding off the likes of Doucoure, Onana & Gueye is no easy task and he came through with flying colours

Stefan Bajcetic Is Your Star Player

DRIVING MIDFIELDER

Bajcetic started out as a holding midfielder yet one play really stood out last night towards the end of the game and showed a little insight into how his new position could be his for years to come..

Breaking up play in midfield he drove at the Everton backline with 3 attacking options in front of him.. It reminded me of a Stevie G break against Man United.. Stevie smacking the ball in from 25 yards out..

Bajcetic had he played a few more games might have tried the same and could easily have had the same result.. Yet he played a lovely pass into Mo's feet with the wingers shot blocked at the last second..

People were screaming out for midfield reinforcements in the January window.. Well we may have just found one in the way we like most.. From the youth team.. And he may well save us millions in the long run
