CL: A Look At Real Madrid

Hi Johan.. Have you enjoyed the last couple of games..?

Yeah I've loved it.. What a huge improvement. Two huge wins and we are now 6 points off fourth. I believe we can get top 4 and the Newcastle win was a huge boost for the Real Madrid match.

So what can we expect from Real Madrid..?

Well Real Madrid in the Champions league is their right of passage.. 14 Champions League titles speaks for itself . The "Merengues" are not at their best though and have recorded some surprising defeats recently in Mallorca where they lost 1-0 so a bit similar to ourselves.. 

They are a well organised outfit as we know having played them so much in recent seasons.. It will be a very good contest.. They have also just won the FIFA Club World Cup Final against Al Hilal 5-3 which could have been us..

What form are they in..?

In La Liga Real Madrid are in second place. 8 points behind Barcelona, They have recorded some surprising draws and defeats which is unlike them. Injuries have played a part like ourselves too. 

They have an interesting Copa Del Rey Semi-Final after the game with Liverpool against Barca.. Which Barca will fancy having beat them in their Charity Shield the Spanish Super Cup..

What are their strengths and weaknesses..?

Well one of the forces of Real Madrid is the Goalkeeper & Defence.. They are really strong.. Courtois can be difficult to beat and the defence with Rudiger, Alaba and Éder Militão. Although he is ageing Modric is as good as ever in midfield.. 

Alongside Valverde they are strong there too.. Obviously Vinicius Jr is a major threat. The weak ones.. They don't seem to be very good under pressure.. The defence makes some mistakes which often costs them defeats. Luckily Benzema and Tony Kroos are injured and are a doubt for the game at Anfield.

So what players should we look out for..?

As mentioned before they have plenty to keep an eye on. The key players to note are Courtois, Modric, Valverde & Vinícius Jr. Another player who can be really dangerous on his day is Asensio.. So plenty of threats in attack. 

Should OurLFC qualify..?

Liverpool are getting back some of their key players such as Van Dijk & Diogo jota. Bobby Firmino too. They are already available to play against Real Madrid. Diaz & Konaté should be in condition for the second leg game. The Reds have an opportunity at Anfield to take an excellent result to Santiago Bernabéu.

I believe that Real Madrid is currently within Liverpool's reach and I think Liverpool will win 2 0 at home. And will eliminate the Spaniards. For that OurLFC has to play with great courage. Heart.. And take this opportunity to move on in the Champions League. Especially after the goings on in the final in Paris we should be well up for this.

if we eliminate the "Merengues" we can get far and who knows.. We could well go on to win the 7th..
