Liverpool v Wolves. Wed 1st March. 20:00 BST

UNDER THEM ANFIELD LIGHTS

Once again we face Wolves.. For the 100th time this season.. So we know what we are getting pretty much..

Last time out against Palace the one real positive was the clean sheet.. Although both teams created chances and barring Hendo defending so well for Palace Trents free kick would've found the top bags..

Gakpo should have finished with his one on one and Mo was unlucky with his shot that hit the crossbar. So plenty of positives we just need that bit of luck now..

In the FA Cup tie at Anfield against these we certainly had no luck regards their goals. Ali laying on one and a deflected deflection the other.. Although we got some luck with VAR a couple of times which is a rarity..

This time though both teams are struggling but playing at Anfield gives us that added edge..

Quick Stat Check.. It couldn't be more similar we have matched each other game for game in our last six games. Although Wolves beat us in one of them.. So 3 losses.. 2 wins & 1 draw for both teams..

LIVERPOOL TEAM NEWS

In short.. Thiago, Ramsay & Joe Gomez are still out injured.. Diaz, Konate & Arthur are building their fitness up for a full return to action.. Darwin Nunez is a late fitness test but doesn't look likely to feature sadly..

WOLVES

Wolves are without Kalajdzic, Oliveira, Hwang, Traore & Cunha.. Wolves have a pretty star studded squad but are failing to deliver regularly since Espírito Santo left for Spurs.

Their team should be in the top six every season. They may find consistency under new manager Lopategui who has a good pedigree.. Just not this week hey..

DANGERMAN  Once again the player that pulls all the strings Ruben Neves..

LIVERPOOL LINE UP

Ali, Trent, Matip, Virg, Robbo, Bajcetic, Fabs, Hendo, Gakpo, Mo, Jota

THE GAME

So how does this one play out.. You'd think very similar to the recent cup ties between the two and the away fixture which we lost.. Wolves will have no fear and attack at will.. Traore obviously will be a threat but lacks that final ball.. Jimenez will look to get in behind and cause problems and Sarabia will probe and look to get some shots away.. The latter two can be deadly if given opportunities..

Liverpool have been guilty of giving up loads of space in midfield and defence of late but at Palace we seemed a bit more of a unit.. Although we lacked a cutting edge when the ball hit the front 3.. The back four looked much stronger with Matip in there. Although a little edgy due to confidence..

At home though this game takes on a much different edge.. We will just play our usual way.. The midfield should feature the same three of Hendo, Fabs and Bajcetic which looks strong.. and up top the front 3 should have some fun with more chances cheered on by the Anfield faithful..

The one huge miss will be Nunez if he is not fit to start.. He has been one huge breath of fresh air this season while Diaz recovers.. When he doesn't play you do worry about goals but Jota started to look like his old self and will hopefully step up against his old club..

PREDICTION 2-0 to them mighty reds

If we can stay strong and resolute and not gift them the chances in that home FA Cup tie then a clean sheet and a couple of goals should seal the deal..

Mo normally bags against these so you wouldn't rule that out.. They will be strong from set pieces but so will we.. Matip & Virg could be vital to chip in in a game like this..

DANGERMAN

Once again Trent AA.. He will be needed to supply that attacking threat and the ammo for the strikers plus the set piece action.. The rest of the team can help him out in defence..

We will bring you match previews before every fixture. If you'd like us to add features please get in touch..
