Liverpool v Man United. Sun 5th March. 16:30 BST

BIG GAME TIME

Is there a bigger game in our calendar.. United at home.. As discussed on our socials and by Jurgen this is our real derby game.. The one we all look out for.. As ever as with all derbies the form book goes right out the window.. Thankfully..

As the red half of mancunia is on a bit of an upward spiral after a bit of a sloppy start under their new manager.. They already have a trophy under their belt which they celebrated very well considering their views on it..

Personally every trophy is gold dust.. There are only a handful to win after all so go all out and win the lot.. The League Cup is very important as once you've won it the pressure is off for the season..

Still a game at Anfield will be a real test of where they are at.. We will be at it from the off. The crowd will be loud. Louder than usual cos of the defeat at their place and the pace of the game will be very very fast. Looking forward to this one.. With a huge jump in the race for top 4 with a win there will be fireworks..

Quick Stat Check.. United have won 5 of their last 6 and drawn the other.. 4 were at home and the draw was away at Barca.. We are on a mini revival of 3 wins 2 defeats and a draw. Though in the Prem we have 4 consecutive clean sheets.. The reds haven't lost at Anfield to United since 2016..

LIVERPOOL TEAM NEWS

Liverpool have 6 players in doubt for the match and only Calvin Ramsay & Arthur with no return date set.. Keita is a late fitness test. Gomez, Thiago & Diaz are a couple of weeks away more or less.. So we are nearly at full strength for the run in..

MAN UNITED

United are without Van De Beek, Eriksen, Sancho, Martial, Greenwood & Luke Shaw.. They are in a rich vein of form and seemed to have steadied their ship after some poor results early in the campaign.. They have struggled away at Arsenal & City which is interesting.

DANGERMAN..  Marcus Rashford.. The lad is in form.. You'd expect him to line up against Trent so he will need support..

LIVERPOOL LINEUP

Ali, Trent, Konate, Virg, Robbo, Fabs, Bajcetic, Hendo, Mo, Jota, Nunez

THE GAME

So as we said this will be a fast start from ourselves. United will try and stem the flow for the first 20 and indeed til around the 60th minute.. Hoping to have not conceded. That is their game plan. They will go at Trent all game when in attack. Doubling up on him so the right hand side needs to be solid. So you'd expect Hendon to fill in down there quite a lot..

The win in mid week will have done us the world of good. We are on for a fifth clean sheet and looked less nervy against Wolves. Konate is a huge plus for that defence.. He will be vital in stopping that threat too.. The other side never really worries you with Robbo & Virg.. Enough said..

The midfield will be strong and again a bit more controlled. With United attacking they will be easy to get at and there weaknesses could be shown again quite early.. Nunez, Mo & quite possibly Jota will have to press and dominate them. Which you would expect.. Newcastle could have and should have put 3 or 4 away in the final last week.. You'd expect us to be more clinical..

PREDICTION.. 2-0 to them mighty reds.. As with the Wolves game lets keep things tight and be patient.. There could well be an early goal for the reds as we look to gain that quick advantage.. Any of the front 3 could bag here.. Although Nunez and Mo look really sharp..

Free kicks and corners again will be important.. Konate could show up again in these attacking areas.. Expect a Real Madrid type start without the errors afterwards.. A real team effort is required on and off the pitch..

OurLFC DANGERMEN & WOMEN.. The Crowd.. Lets make Anfield a cauldron again.. Which it will be and remind United that we are only going through a transition and we are here to stay..
