WHEN

Liverpool v Aston Villa.. Monday 20 May.. 15:00 BST

A NEW ANFIELD ERA

There are a load of big changes coming this summer on and off the pitch.. On it we know of the obvious four leaving on free transfers but you feel there will be a few more to add to the mix.. These will be replaced if they haven't been already..

Plus again the obvious numbers we hold in such esteem will be re-allocated in what you feel will set the fire for a Premier League onslaught next time around.. We will look into all this at the end of the season..

We have all watched the progress too of the new Anfield Rd stand which will take us even further into the 21st century.. Replicating the Main Stand in terms of fan experience (and believe me that is an experience..) and taking the capacity up once again..

I was at the first home game for the Main Stands opening and it was deafening in the Kop that day the noise coming from this colossal structure so expect more of the same.. Off the pitch this will make us once again a commercial magnet if we weren't already..

Aston Villa come to Anfield today in what was a game plenty felt would be Stevie G coming home to help us celebrate another title win.. When in reality a transitional season mixed in with all the disruptions left everything feeling slightly flat..

Again something we will look at when this seasons final whistle sounds. But you wouldn't rule out Stevie G one day being at the forefront of plenty of Liverpool triumphs once again..

Quick Stat Check.. Liverpool are on the back of 7 wins in a row and are unbeaten in 9 so an end of season run of wins still remains in our DNA.. Villa have Won 3, Drawn 1 & Lost 2 of their last 6..

LIVERPOOL TEAM NEWS

Thiago, Ramsay, Bajcetic & Keita are all ruled out for the season.. While Nunez is ruled out with an inflammation of a tendon in his toe.. Bobby seems to be recovered and could feature from the bench which we would all love..

LIVERPOOL LINEUP

Ali, Konate, Virg, Robbo, Trent, Fabs, Curtis, Jota, Diaz, Gakpo, Mo

ASTON VILLA TEAM NEWS

Jed Steer is ruled out while Calum Chambers may return from illness.. Philippe Coutinho is also ruled out in what would have been a fitting return to Anfield to say goodbye to his old mate Bobby who sets off for pastures new in slightly calmer circumstances..

DANGERMAN..Ollie Watkins..

In truth Villa are building a pretty solid little team under the new manager Unai Emery.. Yet Watkins has been a constant thorn in our side in recent match ups.. He always looks to get in behind and mixes things up nicely with defenders. His supply chain is still something they need to work on but his goals tally is still very impressive as is his movement..

THE GAME

Last time out against Leicester we looked loads.. loads.. better.. Much more controlled in possession.. Playing still a high press to an extent but again more controlled.. The defence sat deeper and held their shape and positions. The midfield dominated and protected the defence and the forwards became that first line of defence again yet need to be more clinical..

One thing at a time hey.. We have been screaming for this kind of team performance for a while now and got it.. Putting it simply we have the quality to score at pretty much anytime so why let teams have a sniff of an opportunity.. 1-0's win titles..

We also asked for goals from midfield and young Curtis is finally turning into the player we knew he would.. He needed minutes and a role he could make his own. This new system allows for that and finally the goals are coming too. We always knew he could finish Trent isn't too shabby either..

Villa are always a tough game home or away.. Although we have quite a good record of late and they will set up strong and solid.. Their draw and losses have all come on the road and it is the end of the season for them pretty much but they will certainly have a go..

PREDICTION.. 2-0 To Them Mighty Reds..

Once again if a Villa player or two are planning their summer holidays then who knows regards scorelines.. With that top four spot still a slight possibility we should be quick out the traps..

Curtis and Diaz are getting a bit of an understanding down that left hand side and you can see them causing problems if Diaz is indeed picked as he still recovers from a pretty serious injury..

The flood gates could indeed open if we strike early.. Set pieces are going to be important here too as Villa can be hard to open up at times.. Virg & Konate need to be a bit more dominant in these situations once again.. Matip certainly would..

So once again a nice controlled game.. A bit of patience while we get the first and try to pick them off with a couple more.. Mo will more than likely assist a couple and tap one in from close range..

OurLFC DANGERMAN.. Trent..

Once again he features.. This will probably be like deja vu until that front 3 is sorted and firing on all cylinders.. That still needs sorting but in the meantime Trent's right foot will be causing plenty of damage..

Set pieces in this one as well as unleashing some quality passes and thunderbolts.. He still has to stay in that attacking half of the pitch Stevie G style. You wouldn't play him at right back would you!!! Well maybe for the first few games of his career haha.. The rest was history.. And we love our history..

We are witnessing it once again so really enjoy that.. Like Stevie G he will be around for a very long illustrious career. It hasn't started off to bad has it..
