WHO:  Leeds United

WHEN:  Saturday 29th October, 19:45 BST..

WHERE:  ANFIELD

LIVERPOOL V LEEDS:

After securing qualification to the last 16 of the Champions League you feel these last five games before the World Cup are like a damage limitation.. Its been a case of one step forward.. Five steps back all season long..

Out of those five we have four home games.. One in the Champions League.. One in the League Cup and and two Prem games.. The other a tricky away game at Spurs where you know VAR and Refereeing failings will feature highly on the menu..

So Leeds at home under the lights on Saturday evening is a nice place to start.. Their form is as sporadic as ours. Their manager seems to be on thin ice and they are very much NOT the team that had everybody buzzing when they arrived back in the Premier League..

Lets be honest with ourselves neither were Forest last time out and we all saw the shambles that unfolded there.. So the message is simple lets go out and get the job done.. Nothing is lost even at this stage but the players have got turn up. We have witnessed this before. Leicester away last season springs to mind..

Slow sloppy passing.. Strolling round the pitch like they are world beaters.. No fight.. No bite.. And boom they have an attack, we are 1-0 down and a further 3 points of the pace when the game should've been won at a canter..

LIVERPOOL TEAM NEWS:

The team news is as ever a grim read and not much fun to report.. Diaz (Knee), Jota (Calf) & Arthur (Thigh) are all long term injuries and won't feature til the new year or a fraction before hopefully..

Jo-El Matip (Calf) & Keita (Thigh) are still sidelined as they attempt to recover from their respective injuries.. But Thiago (Ear) should be back for this one and Jordan Henderson (Knee) faces a late fitness test after limping off just before he was subbed against Ajax..

LEEDS:

Leeds are without Dallas & Forshaw and have seven players facing late fitness tests Gary, Hjelde, Adams, Rodrigo, Sinisterra, Cooper & Gelhardt..

DANGERMAN: Jack Harrison.. Tricky little winger who scores and assists..

LIVERPOOL TEAM:

One of the key reasons behind our form is the inability to put out a settled team down to injuries.. As well as continuing to play players who are under performing or better suited in other positions..

Ali, Joe, Konate, Virg, Robbo, Fabs, Thiago, Trent, Tsimikas, Mo & Nunez

The back four gives you that strength and solidity to snuff out any threat.. Fabs & Thiago as a midfield two to sit in front when we are under pressure and win the ball back.. As well as having all the passes in the locker to create going forwards..

It really is time to move Trent up the pitch to do what he does best.. Attack.. This time on the right hand side but as the injuries sort themselves out just give him a free role in midfield. Play Tsimikas down the left and let Mo & Nunez rotate up front and dropping deep..

A nice balanced team that's set up not to concede and has plenty of options to score too..

THE GAME:

Anfield has never really been a problem its away from home we have struggled.. Still a massive three points up for grabs when you weigh everything up.. Damage limitation and getting us in a nice position for when football resumes after the World Cup is of paramount importance..

We have not conceded many goals of late so lets continue this mentality.. Set up strong and get that first goal.. Win 1-0 again is the thought process.. Just get them 3 points..

In reality Leeds are struggling and do show glimpses of being a threat but with Konate hopefully returning to the heart of our defence and Thiago pulling the strings this should be a nice night under them lights.. Nunez should be dominant in this one in the right system.

PREDICTION: All dependent on the team selection.. An easy 3-0 or a hard fought 1-0 with goal line clearances at the end..

I don't expect to see our team selection but it will be interesting to see how close Jurgen and his team get to it. This will be the key to how the game pans out.. The line up was way off against Forest and didn't look much better in the opening exchanges against Ajax.

It has been hard writing these reports this season. Harder than usual as you never know what team is going to be selected.. If they are going to turn up and are we going to get decisions our way.. Well lets hope this is one where everything pans out and we are at it from the off..

Anfield under the lights should be just the tonic to get us the points in this one..

OUR DANGERMAN: Darwin Nunez
