Joe Signs Long Term Deal:
The news just gets better and better coming out of Anfield at the minute.. We heard earlier today that Joe Gomez may well be signing a new deal. This has now been confirmed by the club this afternoon.. With a 5 year deal signed..
This is just excellent news as you felt Joe is one of the best young defenders around. You just could not imagine for one minute the club would want to let him go or he would entertain the idea either.. One golden rule is you never sell your best players..
A New Era For Joe:
We all know about Joe's injury record. Similar to The Ox its been horrific at times.. Just when he builds up a head of steam bad luck strikes again and he's on the sidelines for long periods.
This changed somewhat last season where he played sporadically. Often playing second fiddle to Trent or Konate but this was not a bad thing. On the back of what was a serious knee injury there was really no rush..
He notched up some 20 plus games and looked really good down that right hand side. Barring a slight knock away at Southampton late on he had a relatively injury free campaign.
We are all hoping for more of the same for Joe. He is a really nice lad for one and a very good footballer for two. He has loads to offer the squad and the team on and off the pitch. Really pleased with this news.. Lets hope this is the start of a new injury free era..
