What’s Happening:

In the next Transfer update we will take a look at the possible outgoings and the players who's contracts are running out.. It's a busy time for the club behind the scenes and its decision time for quite a few..

With a few big name players (I mean they are all pretty big names at the club now..) in the final year or so of their deals what are the best case scenarios for the club and indeed us the fans.

With Mane gone, Taki Minamino with one foot out the door plus the released Divock Origi, Karius, Woodburn & Ojo we are in full swing. With quality signings Nunez, Carvalho & Ramsay. The incomings are done right..? Well lets see..

Mo Salah:

So lets get straight to the one on everybody's minds.. Mo Salah.. I mean your guess is as good as anyones on this one. The three possibilities.. He stays and signs a new deal.. We sell him.. Or he stays another year signs a new deal or leaves for free..

If he stays.. Cool.. We get Mo for the rest of his career give or take. He should start firing again but the club won't be held to ransom with his contract as we have seen with Mane.. Could go either way..

If we sell we will get a nice profit and won't have the will he won't he BS all season we've had for the past few years with him, Widj, Can etc that to be honest gets a bit boring. The media love it which again gets a bit boring and we just want to focus on the great football on offer.

The final option being he runs down his contract and leaves which dives into the final part of the last paragraph.. It does feel like there is a stand off and we are stuck between the latter two options

Plus we signed Diaz in January which I felt was a pre cursor to a big name leaving.. Mane quite possibly.. And going all out for Nunez could be a sign of another imminent departure.. Though if Mo stays Nunez makes us much stronger..

Bobby:

Firmino is very much in the same position as Mo in terms of his contract situation. His runs out at the end of next season too. Yet we all feel a bit more chilled about this one..

It would be great if Bobby signs a new contract and out of the three which includes Mane.. He was the one I really didn't want to leave.. Not just for his celebrations and all round team spirit.

Going into his latter years his experience can be as vital as Hendo and Milner. He is an all round team player and can operate in so many different roles.. 

Midfield and in particular that number ten role suit him down to the ground.. Plus he can play as a striker (as we know).. This is one contract that would be nice to get over the line..

Naby Keita:

We have two more high profile names to add to the list of players deals running out in a years time.. Naby & The Ox.. This is quite a big one in the way that when he signed we paid quite a fee..

With this in mind he is in a similar position as Mo.. We could get some money back for him if we sell.. He is also similar to Bobby that a new deal wouldn't upset the books..

Is he going to be a regular starter..? Quite possibly not.. With Fabs, Thiago, Hendo, Bobby (maybe), Carvalho, Elliott, Curtis, Milner to name quite a few.. 

He's good to have around. He plays ok and was injury free last season.. He hasn't reached his full potential yet which is worrying so this one is firmly in the balance..

The Ox:

On to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.. If things weren't bad enough in terms of contract renewals we move on to our fourth.. Although as with Bobby you feel a bit chilled with this one..

The Ox has proven he can play at a very high level.. Yet as with Joe Gomez he has had awful, awful luck with injuries.. The boy wants to play and he trains hard.. He desperately wants to stay and get back to his best..

Just maybe he could.. He has remained relatively injury free for the past season. His fitness levels are not in doubt when he's on the pitch. He just needs to add a consistent end product.

You'd be tempted to let him have another year to see if he can make them strides.. If someone came in for him you'd wish him the best and if he signed a new deal.. Well.. We all like having The Ox around..

Adrian & The Summary:

Adrian is also in the final year of his contract.. Just to keep things nice and neat.. He's good for that third goalkeeping option.. Plus we need him to carry winning goalscorer around various stadiums next season too..

So in summary we have four key players the club have to make huge decisions about. Bobby & The Ox would be great to keep as would they all..

Mo & Naby could get interesting and may mean another transfer incoming.. Although we have quite a lot of back up and have made some pretty key transfers..

And finally it would be nice not to get in this situation again.. Thiago, Gomez & Matip have got two years to run on their contracts.. It would be nice to have everything sorted by the start of the season so we can focus solely on the football..
