THE SQUAD: The Forwards

The best form of defence is attack and we are stacked nicely here. With a more balanced set up that we have already looked at. The final piece of the jigsaw is the evolution of the front 3..

Mo is the only one left as Booby & Mane have moved on to pastures new.. Yet we are blessed once again with some serious talent. All arguably the best young forwards in the game. With the back up of 2 of the most exciting youth prospects around we have no worries here.. Well maybe one..

Jurgen has struggled to get these to gel. Injuries haven't helped of course but trying to get them all on the pitch has left us struggling in other areas. The 3223 formation may look different this time around but a 4231 is the obvious choice and if a left footed CB is signed then 352 is a solid more rounded option..

Anyway we'll leave the tactics to Klopp and his team. Continuing with that 2 players for every position theme lets get into it..

Mo Salah

As with the keeper, defence and Trent in midfield we boast some of the best players in the world in every position. Mo rounds this off nicely. His record is astounding and his constant breaking of records is cool too..

We can look at all these positives as we know them all in depth.. So what more can we get out of Mo..? Plenty.. Watching that recent interview with Stevie you can see he is always keen to learn asking our old captain question after question..

Mo is an out an out goalscorer and he is getting a bit older now. Not that it shows but time and time again he is left isolated out wide. Man handled and marked by 2, 3, 4 men.. Thats an issue.. Plus he misses an awful lot of chances after fighting to break free and getting into position to shoot..

Like Trent at right back.. Why bother playing him wide when he can play through the middle as the striker or even behind in a free role. He likes to assist too doesn't he.. However good his numbers are now this could double and that is no loose comment..

With the quality of player around him now in midfield.. He has no need to defend that wing and can just focus on hitting the back of the net.. Once again its a no brainer..

Luis Diaz

You just wonder how different our season would have been last year if Diaz hadn't gone off in that Arsenal game.. Him and Nunez had just linked up to bring us back in the game at The Emirates and the gunners were on the back foot. It was a turning point in our season..

Had we won we'd have taken off.. Yet we lost with the injury a factor and the help of some very questionable decisions.. but we know how Premier League Referees roll which is another reason to have a solid set up.. We can't give anyone a chance to put one over us..

How Diaz recovers from that injury is still of question cos they are brutal and take time.. Yet he is one of the most exciting forwards in European football. We have seriously struck gold here.. Add that South American bite to his undeniable abilities this guy will win everything the game has to offer domestically..

Darwin Nunez

In a recent poll we did on our Facebook group we asked who should take the number 9 shirt.. The result was unanimous.. The Uruguayan blitzed it.. Contrary to media trash talk.. They're good at that..

He has come into a transitioning team and we all know the struggles of last season, yet Darwin was always a name that excited us on the team sheet when it was announced. Like Diaz you know he's gonna fight.. His pace was frightening..

He is one of the best young strikers in the world and we will see that this season.. Klopp said when he signed him he was one for the future.. Learning the lingo, a bit more confidence and the quality deliveries he's gonna be on the end of this season should return an impressive goal tally..

Diogo Jota

So we are 3 deep already and things get even better.. Like Diaz.. Jota spent lots of time out injured and like Diaz you don't just start firing straight away..He certainly found his feet though just as the season was coming to an end.. That winner against Spurs will go down in folklore..

He struggles out wide a bit, often going missing but up front he's a beast.. He too is a natural striker. His timing is top drawer and you can't teach that.. He is very quick and very very good in the air.. His headed goals are quality..

You can start to see now how Klopp struggles to get these all out on the pitch at the same time as thats 3 that should operate as a striker.. He will have to be ruthless in his decision making the boss..

Yet the competition is a really good thing like every other position. If we are injury free you play the players in form. Whoever that means dropping.. Be it Virg.. Mo.. or Ali.. Well maybe not Ali..

Cody Gakpo

Here we go again.. The forward line that keeps giving.. Another who could line up as a striker or false 9.. Yet Cody who himself is a seriously good young player and one of the best young talents in European football.. Has a few more strings to his bow..

He came over from Holland as a left winger and could easily line up there for us.. That goal against United a great example.. Diaz could switch to the right.. Equally they could swap and Gakpo down the right could be his ideal position..

He is very quick.. Can take people on.. Drift in and score goals when the attacks come down the left and as we are all now well aware he as an absolute rocket of a shot.. Its easier for him to assist too coming in off the right with his right foot..

ACADEMY GRADUATE - Ben Doak

Us Reds love a youngster breaking through and taking the first team by storm. The Academy is doing us seriously proud at the minute. Its a constant that has brought numerous players through and made the club some coin and set many up for good careers in the game..

There is no-one more exciting than the young Scot Ben Doak.. Although signed from Celtic a couple of years back he has progressed really well through the ranks..

This could be his break through season with all those UEFA Cup games.. He seriously has it all.. Pace.. Dribbling.. Pace with Dribbling.. Assists & Goals.. We never want to heap too much pressure on these youngsters but they are at Liverpool for a reason. It comes with the territory..

He can handle it and will be a feature for sure this season.. At a nice slow pace. With the first 11 focused on the League he will have time to grow..

Kaide Gordon

Not only do we have Ben but Kaide could have been a permanent fixture too the last couple of seasons barring injury. He looks to be on the mend as he has started pre season training. Although he hasn't travelled to Germany.

What we've seen of Kaide so far is very impressive. He may feature too in the cup competitions as he builds up his fitness. A loan may well be an option..

Are more attacking signings required..

Not really.. We are more than stacked here with exceptional talent. Arguably the best strike force in world football.. Harvey and Curtis can also play a part in this department too..

Like we discussed the only problem is how they line up.. Thats one for Klopp but a nice problem to try and solve..
