Thiago Alcantara:
When we talked of our injury problems in this slow and interrupted start to the season there were obvious big misses.. None more so than our highly talented and highly creative Spanish midfielder Thiago..
Well we are pleased to say he is very much back.. He's just a leader.. That famous little fake left and go right shimmy was used on numerous occasions last night against Ajax..
He was that yard ahead of everybody else that we are accustomed to.. Timing his tackles to perfection.. Spraying that ball over the park and dictating play all night. Obviously he is just back so he will get better with minutes.. Keeping him fit is a must..
Thiago Is Your Star Player..
Jo-El Matip:
Other stand outs on the night were Ali, Trent, Tsimikas and the other great injury miss so far this season Joel Matip.. Who was absolutely immense..
Yes he scored the winner but he was just so solid at the back and must give Trent a huge sigh of relief.. We again saw those dribbles out of defence Alan Hanson style.. He is in midfield as much as he can be when we are attacking normally with the ball at his feet..
He was unlucky with one drive not to release the attackers that was expertly defended by our Dutch counterparts.. Thiago is so good to have back in the fold but Matip is just as important..
