Red Bull Leipzig 0 - 5 Liverpool:

In the third game of preseason the reds travelled to Germany to play RB Leipzig to step up their preparations for the start of the season. The game proved to be a demolition of what are probably the second best team in the Bundesliga right now..

Starting 11:

Adrian, Trent, Virg, Konate, Robbo, Fabs, Thiago, Keita, Diaz, Bobby, Mo..

The Game:

The match featured on the whole two different starting 11's in both halves.. At half time Tsimikas, Hendo, Jo-El & Nunez came on to replace Robbo, Keita, Konate & Bobby. With the remainder of the changes coming on 60 minutes to get more valuable minutes in to the players legs..

With both teams setting up strong the first half was a little cagey. There were good chances for both sides but Liverpool struck early. 

A long headed clearance from Virg was not dealt with and Mo was on it in a flash. A quick one-two with Bobby and Salah slotted an easy finish in to the bottom left hand corner.

The first half finished 1-0 to the reds but RBL were unlucky just before the break when Adrian pulled off a great reaction save down to his right from Nkunku..

Second Half- The Nunez Show:

This game was all about the second half.. Sure this is preseason but to see your new striker hit his first goal for the club is always a buzz. To hit a couple is cool as.. But to smash in 4.. Well.. I for one was dancing round my house proper buzzing...

After a throw in from Trent, Hendo nodded down to Diaz who was brought down by the keeper and we were correctly awarded a penalty.. And in true LFC style and in an unselfish fashion Mo handed the chance to Nunez to open his account for the reds in a lovely show of team spirit.

Nunez placed the ball on the spot and smashed it in to the keepers right who managed to get a hand on it. Thankfully the power took the ball in to the net and our new number 27 was off and running..

Nunez 2, 3 & 4:

With his first goal safely in the back of the net the weight was lifted and he was free to kick on.. His second came minutes later after Thiago broke up play. Trent nudged a nice little through ball into the strikers path who took a couple of touches before calmly slotting the ball into the bottom left hand corner.

The third was similar in the build up. The impressive Bajcetic was quick into the tackle and played a nice ball to Elliott who squared for Nunez to finish clinically from close range with his left foot. Again into the left hand bottom corner..

The fourth came after great play from Carvalho.. The youngster heading expertly over his midfield marker before breaking away at speed, driving at the RBL defence. Nunez pealed away to the left and was found with a simple pass.. The striker curled one in to the bottom right hand corner via the keepers gloves.

Summary & Watch The Highlights:

It would have been nice for Nunez to have hit the complete hat-trick (Right Foot, Left Foot, Header) or whatever the name is for that and what would have made it 5 goals for the lad.. 

He was very close too..  As we saw a glimpse of his arial ability with a very strong header from a Milner cross. Which the keeper managed to save well. This lad really does have it all..

The whole team once again looked great. The big guns looked sharp and fitter.. Bajcetic looks awesome as did Davies in goal.. We are gathering a fine fine squad..
