Rangers (a) Champions League

WHO:  Rangers

WHEN:  Wednesday 12th October, 20:00 BST..

WHERE:  IBROX

In a quick turn around we travel up to Glasgow to face Rangers in The Champions League..

RANGERS V LIVERPOOL:

After facing the Scottish giants only a week ago we know what to expect from them.. Yet this time it will be a whole lot different. With a packed Ibrox screaming from the rafters our first objective will be to silence the crowd.

In the year the tough away fixtures have returned thankfully for the good of football.. Unless you are City where teams just roll over.. We face another tricky European test. Lets just hope VAR doesn't play a part in this too and we are talking about football after the match.

Rangers will be well up for this and be more expansive in attack. They showed a few signs late on at Anfield that they can open us up. Not that too many are struggling with that of late.. So unlike the Arsenal game it would be nice to see our back 4 holding positions for the first 20. Although offside might actually mean something and have cameras that work this time around..

LIVERPOOL TEAM NEWS:

Sadly after a brighter outlook in the last match report our main man this season Diaz has been ruled out until after the World Cup and Trent is doubtful after the debacle that was the Arsenal game. If we hadn't been screwed over enough the Diaz pill is a bitter one to take..

Robbo is getting closer to starting again as is Curtis Jones.. Melo as you know joins Diaz on the treatment table and The Ox and Keita are out for the foreseeable.. Today Matip was also added to the injury list and could miss a couple of weeks..

RANGERS:

Rangers won't be too far off the starting 11 at Anfield with a few long term injuries in Ofoborh, Hagi, Helander, Souttar & McGlaughlin..

DANGERMAN: Ryan Kent.. He was quiet at Anfield but you'd expect him to be well up for this to show his old team what they're missing..

LIVERPOOL TEAM:

With all the injuries you can see us reverting back to a 433 for this one..

Ali, Joe, Konate, Virg, Tsimikas, Fabs, Hendo, Thiago, Salah, Nunez, Jota

THE GAME:

As the group stands this is a pretty important 3 points for the reds as a win could make qualification a little easier with Ajax away and Napoli at home to come. Both are winnable of course yet it'd be nice to have that cushion..

As mentioned a strong start defensively is needed here. Like any tough away game. Set your stall out and make yourself difficult to break down. The team selection allows this. With Joe coming in at right back the solidity is instant. The more minutes he gets the better he will be..

Mo once again needs to up his game. He asked for the pay rise he thought he was worth.. Well Mo you've got it mate its time to start producing..

Nunez was quality against Arsenal but had no back up when Diaz and Trent went off. He will lead the line well and with that goal against Arsenal under his belt you'd expect more here. Had it not been for the Rangers keeper last time out he'd have had at least two at Anfield..

Jota the same as Mo needs to step up with goals and assists. He showed great signs against Arsenal first half but went missing in the second when he was switched out wide. Both of them just need to simplify everything and just get involved.. One touch, two touch pass and move and really drive at the defence when they get the opportunity.

Just like the injured Diaz who will be a great miss as he and Nunez were striking up a great understanding.

PREDICTION: 2-0 to them mighty reds..

As ever I honestly believe this is the strongest squad we have had in years.. Why.. Because it is.. We are most certainly in a transition with Mane leaving, Mo struggling and Bobby trying to relocate positionally..

Injuries haven't helped and neither has the corrupt VAR & Referees throughout this season and every season. Lets not ignore that. It is near on impossible to get things started when the rules mean nothing..

Sooner or later things will click. Class is permanent.. With togetherness, belief and getting back to basics this team can go from strength to strength once more..

OUR DANGERMAN: Darwin Nunez
