Who:  Crystal Palace

When:  Monday 15th August, 20:00 BST

Where:  Anfield

Jurgen Klopp and the Liverpool walking wounded will open their campaign at Anfield hosting Patrick Viera's Crystal Palace.

Liverpool Team News:

The build-up all week has surrounded the slew of injuries that has hit Klopp and his squad at the beginning of the autumn campaign.. We can now add Joel Matip to this list.. As he suffered a knock in training earlier in the week and is doubtful for the Palace tie. Others include The Ox, Curtis Jones, Konate, Kelleher & Thiago..

Look for Jurgen to find a way here to put a quality side on the pitch come Monday; there is some speculation Naby lad will be available for this tie. Plus Kostas Tsimikas could pass a late fitness test..

Palace Team News:

After a 0-2 home loss in the opener to Arsenal.. Patrick Viera will be seeking to take the points from a wounded Liverpool side at Anfield on Monday evening. Wilfred Zaha arguably Palaces biggest threat in attack will be a handful for Arnold who needs to step up his defensive game after his poor showing the weekend before.. Where he allowed Mitrovic to out muscle him to head in the first of Fulham's goals.

Zaha it was reported in media this week is looking for a move to Chelsea as per a Friday afternoon report in the Echo.

Keep an eye on his run out here to see if his head and heart are in the game or if he is truly seeking greener pastures cross town in the Chelsea camp.

Liverpool Teamsheet:

Expect Ali in goal with Robbo, Gomez, Virgil, and Trent across the defensive line. Robbo and Trent need to show up for this match as they were both off their usual game in London. Gomez has been champing at the bit for his opportunity to break into the side…and with Konate out for 6 weeks and Matip out too.. Joe will need to step up here.

Midfield is the big question mark for Klopp and Lijnders as they make adjustments to the depleted middle three. Fabinho and Hendo should start with Elliot (after penning a long term contract midweek last) set to make an important appearance this week..Also expect Carvalho to get minutes at some point in the second half.. Milner and Keita are also possibilities with 5 subs at the gaffers disposal.

The front line should see Diaz and Firmino with Salah to finish out the starting side. Expect Darwin to come in again in the 60th minute to get his much deserved minutes against Palace.

What Does OurLFC Think:

I expect Klopp to have the Reds primed and ready for the home opener with our first visit to Manchester looming the following Monday at old Trafford. Look for Salah and Nunez to score again here as they are just too strong for a Palace defence that shipped two to Arsenal the weekend before.

Diaz can get off the mark and open his account in this new campaign. Liverpool should extend their home winning streak.. Keeping in mind VVD has yet to lose a match at home. Also look for Hendo and Milner to marshal the on-field assault.. Keeping these lads heads in the game, and bringing all hands to bear.

Lets get fired up!! Sing loud and proud as we stand with our Reds lifting them up as they climb the table with United next on tap. We go again!!! Aye!! Up these mighty Reds!!

Jurgen is the man; and I feel fine!!! Trust in Klopp and believe!!!  YNWA..

What's The Score:

We should win here 2-0 at a minimum.. Maybe 3..
