MATCH PREVIEW // Liverpool v Brentford

Liverpool will look to carry on where they left off last weekend against Ipswich. Where they played some very impressive football in the second half to get an equally impressive 3 points on the board with goals from Mo & Jota.

We were all excited to see what Arne Slot would bring to the table and so far it is all good. A more controlled style of play. Some exciting attacking play and most importantly stopping our Achilles Heal the past few seasons and keeping that clean sheet. It was always glaringly obvious. Stop conceding if you want to win things.. Obviosa..

Arne has also shown a ruthless streak straight away with Quansah that sent an instant message of the performance levels required to win these tricky away games. Spurs at Leicester Monday night was a prime example of how we used to perform. Spurs should have been 7-0 up but their players were just cruising around like they owned the gaff and ended up with a draw.

This could have been the outcome at Ipswich had we carried on in the same vein as the first half. One change, a rocket and it was lift off. Trent hasn't played like that away from home for years.. He was flying and involved in everything. The whole team was.. It was a huge 3 points and that is the effort you need to win these type of games.

Brentford fresh with their two new signings from ourselves arrive after scraping a win at home to Palace last time out. Palace were unlucky to have an excellent free kick ruled out for what was a foul. Was he interfering with play. From a direct free kick I don't think so. Still Brentford weathered the storm and managed to win 2-1

QUICK STAT CHECK

Its early days still but the stats read Liverpool W-1. Brentford W-1. The Bees have not won at Anfield since 1937.. With Liverpool winning every Premier League game at home to the Londoners..

LIVERPOOL LINE UP

Ali, Trent, Virg, Ibou, Robbo, Gravs, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Mo, Jota, Diaz

LIVERPOOL TEAM NEWS

Liverpool have once again a pretty much full squad to choose from. Quansah is the only doubt with a slight injury according to Slot. He may be fit but probably won't be rushed and may face a late fitness test

BRENTFORD TEAM LINE UP

Flikken, Roerslev, Collins, Pinnock, Ajer, Norgaard, Janelt, Jensen, Mbuemo, Wissa, Schade

BRENTFORD TEAM NEWS

Brentford are without Joshua Dasilva, Aaron Hickey, Rico Henry & Igor Rodrigues through injury. While striker Ivan Toney is unlikely to play as he pushes for a transfer away. They are in a pretty good place fitness wise other than that.

THE GAME

Once again without sounding like a broken record we never underestimate any team in our analysis. As will Arne Slot and his team. That goes without saying. Brentford are probably a little better suited to these tough away games. They are happy not to have the ball. They are happy to keep the ball and pass through the lines and they can attack quickly on counters.

Mbuemo in particular is a serious threat. Without Toney a bit less so but he can take you down on his own. So a start similar to the Ipswich one. We have to set our stall out in that first 20 minutes and close off all the channels and suffocate their strengths. At home we should create more than in away games so can be a bit more expansive as they sit back.

Palace had loads of chances to put the game to bed early against Brentford and you feel we will get the same opportunities and take them.. We are still learning the new system so to speak under the new coach. But our players are world class and will adapt quickly. It's a system they will all thrive in.

You wouldn't rule out some quick fire early goals for Liverpool as they can score from possession based and quick counter attacks. One thing we aren't utilising is set pieces and it would be cool to bag one from that department against a side that can defend them quite well. Likewise they can be a threat from them too.

We should have more than enough here though to cancel them out and score a few. Stay strong defensively in wide positions and dominate their midfield and defence.

OurLFC DANGERMAN

MO SALAH There are a few to pick here to be honest. Trent can take things to another level in this one. Mac Allister will look to unlock things too and will have a game. Jota is looking more and more dangerous in front of goal. Yet Mo Has been really impressive throughout preseason and looked like Prime Mo against Ipswich.

He looks Energised. Fitter. Stronger and is in line for what could be his best ever season. We all know about the records he's smashed its speaks for itself. But you feel he will start converting the chances he's been missing with the right coaching and 20 plus goals a season is nothing compared to what those figures could look like.

PREDICTION.. 4-0 TO THEM MIGHTY REDS
