The game finished goalless at Anfield in this Premier League early kicker.. Both teams had chances to break the deadlock but you can see why both are struggling just above mid table in the league.
Chelsea had an early goal ruled out for offside. Cody Gakpo drilled two over the bar.. The second he could have laid in Mo.. Who was once again non existent.. His current form summed up by an air shot shall we call it.. and a poor curled shot which went over after cutting inside with the keeper beaten..
It was a very messy messy game but you have to look at the positives.. James Milner called it in his post match interview.. Things arent good and we have to take little steps to put things right. That first is our second clean sheet in two games..
Alisson Becker takes major credit for this as did Konate.. Ali pulled off save after save and dominated his box and in truth he was never seriously threatened.. Which again is a positive..
Bajcetic played well and the returning Darwin Nunez started to stretch the game for us again. He is all action and could've scored. The team set up was again questionable.. But like we say little steps.. The sooner Jota & Diaz are back the better. A draw is certainly a place to build on. Chelsea are tough to play at any time but were there for the taking today.
