Liverpool fought back from 2-0 down to get a deserved draw against Arsenal @ Anfield this afternoon.
Martinelli & Jesus put The Gunners in front and Liverpool looked like they had the last few months. Shellshocked and lost. Then like a few years ago when Arteta fired up the crowd.. Xhaka left a foot in on Trent and the fire was lit..
The team reacted and backed up their team mate and the crowd was in full voice. The fight was back. The drive was back and Liverpool were on the front foot. Mo Salah chipped in with the first goal late in the first half and the second half was set.
A penalty was awarded fairly quickly after a foul on Jota. Salah stepped up and missed again..
We didn't fly out the traps but Konate & Virg were beasts at the back and Trent was growing into this game. If ever there was proof in what we have been saying for months that the team should be built around a Midfielder & Captain Trent then this was it.
He was involved in everything. He laid on the equaliser for Bobby with some great skill down the right hand side and a pin point cross. He nearly laid on the winner late on too with a lovely chipped cross on to Nunez head. Who squared nicely for Konate who's chested effort was saved by the impressive Arsenal keeper..
Lets take this fight into our final 9 games and try and salvage something from this season..
