Confirmed: Darwin Nunez Deal Agreed

The Athletic Confirm Nunez Deal:

After a few days of speculation and the rumour mill clickbaiters drumming up speculation from other teams.. Darwin Nunez will be a Liverpool player The Athletic have confirmed.. Subject To A Medical which is penciled in for Monday..

The player made his intentions clear very quickly that he wanted to play for Liverpool. The pull of working with Jurgen Klopp as well as the obvious.. Playing for the best club in the world..

From what we understand the deal is £64million up front with add ons that will take the price nearer to the £80million Benfica requested.. The nearly 23 year old will sign a 6 year deal..

For a player of this calibre there has been some impressive haggling from the club and takes our forward line to another dimension..

We've Met Before:

As we know Nunez played against us for Benfica last season in the Champions League where he scored home and away for the Portuguese outfit..

In fact at Anfield he could have had a hat trick on the night barring some marginal yet correct offside decisions.. Proving to be a real handful for the back four to handle..

Even more impressive is the fact he scored against Barca, Bayern & Ajax too on his way to 34 goals in 41 games last season..

So What Are We Getting:

Goals.. This lad is an out and out goalscorer.. Who.. In this Liverpool team will have chance after chance to get on the end of.. With Haaland signing for City, Liverpool had to match it.. They may quite possibly have bettered it..

Sure we finished second and nearly won the League & European Cup but a goalscorer of this pedigree would have surely been the difference.. We won't put a number on goals he could score this coming season but its going to be an exciting figure..

He is strong.. Just ask Konate.. He is quick and comfortable on the ball. Holding it up and when in space. And in true Uruguayan style which we all know well.. He wants to get at you at every possibility.

He can score with both feet so has no real weak foot. He is strong in the air so headed goals too.. Check.. Plus he is a poacher often getting that yard for a tap in.. He takes penalties and he likes to assist his team mates..

You can see all this in the video below.. That's if you haven't watched it already 10 times haha..

Have A Great Weekend Fellow Reds
