Our Number 1 was in inspired form against Newcastle at St James Park.. With Liverpool racing in to a 2-0 lead and the hosts down to 10 men following Popes red card. The reds were dominant and it could easily have been 4 at the time the keeper made his way to the dressing room..
You would have thought game over how many more are we gonna score.. Yet it was not that easy against the ten men.. And as we switched off with an eye on an important Champions League tie against Real Madrid mid week.. Newcastle had some seriously good chances..
Enter OurALI.. Is there a better one on one shot stopper..? He pulled off a pretty crucial one early in the game from Almiron (who did look offside mind you).. Plus there was one late on from Wilson that could have made the closing stages a bit nervy..
Throughout the game though Ali commanded his box as well as ever. His distribution was on point and he kept his second clean sheet in two games.. Lets hope he makes it three Tuesday night..
